Up for sale is a lovely, large specimen of Boulder Opal.
The specimen features of bueatiful multi colored layers of Opal on a facade of the specimen.
Opal is originally formed from a solution of silica in water, hydrated silica. The silica as concentrated by evaporation to a state of gel, which then filled cracks and cavities in sandstone, ironstone and basalt, and further evaporation of the water caused the gel to set into Solid Opal.
