Up for sale is this exquisite example of a rare and well displayed Bothriolepis canadensis Placoderm.
Bothriolepis is one of the most widely-recognized of all the ancient Armored fishes. The box-like body was enclosed in armor plates, and provided Armored Fossil Fish protection from predators. This species dating to the Late Devonian period, between 420 and 390 million years ago.
