Up for sale is this Dinosaur Gem Bone from a Camarasaurus
The bone has been polished to a mirror finish on one side to expose the unique pattern of the bone structure.
Gem Bone is mineralized bone that has been fossilized with precious stones such as hematite, iron, pyrite, jasper, marcasite, agate, quartz or other crystals.
The bones of this large herbivore were much thicker than those of Diplodocus, making it heavier despite having chambers that reduced the weight of the spinal column. Camarasaurus probably could not stand on its hind legs as the thicker bones and large forelimbs indicated that the front part of the body was too heavy to be lifted off the ground.
