This specimen also has a fossil known as a Carpoid, which is an obsolete extinct subphylum of Paleozoic Era echinoderms, prehistoric marine invertebrates. They are also referred to as Homalozoa.
This specimen was discovered in Kataoua Formation near Erfoud, Morocco. They are Ordovician in age, approximately 450 million years old.
